Streamwake + Cloudflare Stream

Streamwake + Cloudflare Stream.
Don't replace Cloudflare Stream — we correlate its ingest + delivery signals and drive remediation.

Don't replace Cloudflare Stream — we correlate the inputCreated → ready → liveWebhook → recordings signal stream and the global anycast edge network it ships on, and drive remediation on top.

Cloudflare Stream edge video platform — ingest, transcode, store, deliver. Streamwake doesn't replace Cloudflare Stream— we correlate its signals and drive remediation on the anomalies it already surfaces.

Where each layer sits

What Cloudflare Stream owns. What Streamwake runs on top.

Honest framing of the surface the vendor owns and the surface Streamwake runs on top of it. Both layers run together in production — same signal bus, different obligations.

What Cloudflare Stream owns

Ingest + transcode + global delivery

Pull ingest from RTMP/SRT, on-the-fly H.264/H.265 transcode, MP4 / HLS / DASH output, signed-token playback URLs, and the customer-facing Stream dashboard — the ingest-to-deliver path owned end-to-end inside the Cloudflare network.

Edge network + quotas

The anycast edge PoPs that terminate viewer requests, the live-webhook event stream (input.created → ready → live → recordings), and the per-account request-quota + storage-quota counters Cloudflare surfaces as first-class signals.
What Streamwake runs on top

Detect → Classify → Fix

The autonomous loop on top of the Cloudflare signal bus — every live-webhook event, analytics anomaly, and quota counter gets classified, ranked with a typed confidence, and matched to the smallest safe remediation (reroute egress off a brown-out PoP, rotate an expired signed token, retry a dropped input, dirty-fix a stuck recording).

Postmortems

A structured writeup — what happened, what was tried, what changed — lands in Slack, Linear, or PagerDuty the moment the incident closes. Cloudflare surfaces the chart; Streamwake closes the loop and writes it up.
How it works

An incident closed
before your viewers notice.

Four steps from a Cloudflare Streamanomaly to a closed incident with a typed postmortem. Read top to bottom — the loop is closed end to end.

  1. 1

    Ingest Cloudflare telemetry

Live webhook events (inputCreated → ready → liveWebhook → recordings), per-PoP analytics, and request-quota + storage-quota counters land on the Streamwake signal bus via a single REST POST.

  2. 2

    Correlate and rank

The agent joins Cloudflare signals against CDN, encoder, and DRM signals on the same bus, then ranks root cause with a typed confidence score (live_webhook_drop vs signed_token_expiry vs regional_edge_brownout vs quota_breach).

  3. 3

    Recommend or run a fix

The agent picks the smallest safe remediation — reroute egress off the affected PoP, rotate the signed token, retry the input, dirty-fix a stuck recording — and verifies recovery before closing out.

  4. 4

    Write the postmortem

A structured incident writeup — what happened, what was tried, what changed — lands in the team's inbox the moment the incident resolves.

What Streamwake catches

Four failure modes Cloudflare Stream alerts alone miss.

Each one is something the Cloudflare Streamsignal exposes but the agent loop names and acts on — so a chart becomes a closed incident rather than a triage queue.

quota / rate-limit exceeded

Quota / Rate-limit Exceeded

A request-quota or storage-quota counter trips mid-event — Cloudflare surfaces a 429 + a quota banner in the dashboard, but viewer rebuffers have already started. Streamwake catches the quota counter crossing the warning threshold AND the matching per-PoP response-code spike, and emits a tier-up or playback-reroute before the second wave hits.

live webhook drops

Live Webhook Drops

The inputCreated → ready → liveWebhook → recordings event stream stalls or skips an event — Cloudflare shows the recording eventually, but the live-stream state in your control plane drifted and player-side QoE already dipped. Streamwake catches the webhook-queue saturation + the matching playback-error stream on the same bus and surfaces a typed next-action.

signed-token expiration mid-event

Signed-token Expiration Mid-event

A signed playback token expires mid-event (TTL mis-set, rotation missed, clock skew on the edge) — valid requests 200 for a window, then 403 flood in. Cloudflare surfaces the 403 spike; Streamwake catches the signing-window + the QoE fall on the same signal, rotates the token, and propagates to active sessions.

regional edge brownouts

Regional Edge Brownouts

A regional anycast PoP degrades — manifest pulls 200, segments 200, but live replay time on the affected edges diverges from the rest of the network. Cloudflare analytics reports a regional skew; Streamwake reads the same edge signal and reroutes egress away from the affected PoP before it cascades into a per-region outage.

Worked incident

Edge-encoded ABR overshoot caught at the anycast edge.

Primetime
Posted to the Incident Library

packaging.aligned_target_kbps drifted to 4,242 kbps vs 3,498 kbpsbaseline — a 21% overshoot observed per-PoP on the affected anycast regions.

The agent classified it as edge_encoder_abr_switchover_overshoot at 87% confidence, emitted a regional-PoP retune + signed-token rotation, and the egress-budget drift cleared within 9 minutes.

Direct mapping to the Streamwake edge-routing probe lane — every signal that fired the encoder-abr-bitrate-overshoot hypothesis is the same signal a Cloudflare Stream per-PoP analytics regression pushes onto the bus. The agent that closed the primetime incident is the same one that catches a Cloudflare regional edge brownout the moment the alignment target drifts.
